I tell you I have this theory. It goes where, you're the one who's not my sister. Cuz mom adopted you from a shoe box full of baby howler monkeys, and never told you cuz it could hurt your delicate baby feelings.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Well, when I first applied, I still had a project with my current job. Now I have nothing. So yeah, I'm looking for slightly less hostility and slightly more CALL ME.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Maybe you could let them know about your current situation, and that you would be ready to start at their earliest convenience?

I don't know... I don't think I'm saying it right. Hell, I don't think I'm thinking it right.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What Nora said--focus on wanting to follow up, and still be interested in the job, discussing it more, etc.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I concur with the idea of finding out if there's any more information you can provide for them to help them reach a decision.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We visited our friends Lisa and Michael this weekend. JZ's known Lisa since high school, and Lisa lived in L.A. for years working with a small theater company.

Anyway, Lisa has friends down there still in the movie biz and one of them was temping at a plastic surgeon's office. She related a fabulously decadent tale of Courtney Love receiving her regular "Sculptene" injections (apparently something like cheekbones-in-a-syringe), replete with designer pill cocktails, blinged out gangsta dealers in the waiting room, outfit changes between the car and the parking lot and Courtney's doped up, erratic behavior which was fully cosseted by Assistants 1 and 2.

Also, Jessica Alba apparently receives a monthly $7,000 full body "skin tightening" (?) treatment. Something with frickin' lasers.

Okay. E-mail sent off. I did not say "please call me because I want to keep working at home, not go work for stupid engineers."

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

so, funny story...

I hadn't mailed in my taxes yet - tax guy emails me, says send them overnight. I go to fedex and realize I only have a PO Box for him, so I drop him an email, but then also try google thinking I can find it there. Turns out, my tax guy, arraigned on tax evasion and grand larcery charges last Oct.

I am trying to find out now what happened if there was a court date. really glad I did not mail those off yet.

So, hivemind - what online tax programs do you like?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I use TaxCut, but haven't actually looked at anything else.
