Well, look who just popped open a fresh can of venom.

These are punker parents, so they would need to be killer bunny footie pajamas (Clovis bunny baby PJs!).

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Some scans of my dad I just did.

Age 10, in his Scout uniform, with his beloved Springer Spaniel, Jerry.

My Dad with his big brother, my Uncle Noel. Noel has just enlisted for WWII.

My Dad age 17, on the Tigard, Oregon baseball team. (They were the Tigard Tigers, 'natch.)

My Dad age 17, catching. (Emmett is a fourth generation catcher.)

My Dad's high school portrait.

My Dad doing his clown act. (Matilda's circus school love of the trampoline may be innate.)

More clowning. Winning over the crowd.

Couple bonus pictures. Matilda's middle name, Azalea, comes from my maternal grandmother, Prudence Azalea.

These are the only two pictures I have of her.

As a young mother with nice finger waves.

A few years later, showing more wear and the whole family looking like a Depression era photo out of Dorothea Lange. (That shot is from the late twenties or early thirties.)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Wow! I suppose it's too late in my life to Learn Everything About Cars so that I can become an automotive journalist.

Mom update: she's home but was taking a nap in her bed so I just chatted with my brother. Literally, she's not been able to lie flat for weeks -- she's been sleeping in a recliner, which hurt less. So being happily flat is big fat happy news.

Beautiful pictures, Hec. I see both you and Emmett in your dad's young pics.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Great to hear the good news about your mom's procedure Theo.

Apparently, I am not alone in wanting to show my support for the forbidden love between a man and his toaster oven: my local Quiznos is out of torpedo bread until Monday.

I've never really felt like I was being scandalous when using my toaster oven. The steamer, sure, but never the toaster oven.

That's a great boy and his dog shot.

“Not dead yet!”

I'm watching the very first I Dream of Jeannie on WGN.

Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman looking impossibly young! And lacking a belly button!

Oh good lord, that's the Target I usually go to. Ack! Though it was probably just mice, not rats. I hope.
