Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

“Not dead yet!”

Re: the ER finale-- It was satisfying and I think for me, the whole Kem thing was there to illustrate how she never allowed herself to be family to Carter, while ultimately, you see the family he made for himself, both generations of it and if that wasn't especially poignant. Seeing him with the family that raised him and now sees him as an equal and in the end, seeing him as the patriarch, as it were, of the next generation. It had such a lovely feeling of completeness to it while still leaving the feeling that there's still so much ahead for these characters and that life does go on.

Happy Cthulhu Day!

Cthulhu Day, otherwise known as Chef Boyardee Appreciation Day, is the day where all of us petty three dimensional mortals worship our Dread Father. It is held thrice every year, on April 2nd, February 27 and December 2nd.

OK, one day late.

PZ has this to say:

It's Cthulhu Day today! There's a list of activities you should do today, but I've got my own ideas, and prefer not to tell you what they are, instead leaving you with a sense of inchoate unfolding dread.

No one told me…

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I'm so sorry, Hec.

I've been trolling travel websites looking at prices to Miami, and it looks like we'll have to start calling the individual airlines asking about bereavement fares.

In December, when I flew down to Arlington to see my uncle in the hospital (and subsequently arrange his services), the one thing that was useful that we were able to swing was having the ability to change the return date of the ticket depending on what happened, and not have to pay any change fees whatsoever. I probably changed it about 3 times, it was such a relief to be able to have that flexibility. I feel like that was American? I can't remember off the top of my head.

Yay on Theo's good news and YAY for Scola's birthday!

I am also home, but not for any celebratory purposes, but because I am writing my departmental essay exam over the weekend. (the Masters Comps). Hopefully I'll get through it OK!
