I just talked to him three days ago, when he had just gotten out of the hospital previously. That call was all, "Yeah, your sister got all shook up, but I'm okay."
But I got to talk to him and tell him I loved him. I got to tell him that Emmett had started umpiring (something my father did for years). I got to tell him that Emmett hit a home run over the weekend. He told me to pass his love on to Jacqueline and Emmett and Matilda. And I will.
He's a Catholic so he'd appreciate your prayers and candles.
For those keeping score, my niece underwent a catheterization procedure to check her heart, and it was determined that the damage was minimal and she didn't need a stent.
My poor sister.

Yeah. Thank you. The last time I saw him is when he came out for Matilda's christening. I've always felt bad that my Mom never got to meet Emmett. She would have loved him so much. But my Dad got to hold Matilda and she slept on him and even though she won't remember him, he held her.
The two times he got to see Emmett play baseball were (a) on the day I got married to JZ, and (b) the day after Matilda's baptism.
