Art Crawl!!!

Mentalist - went to IMDB, now I feel silly. I thought I recognized the actor who played Dr. Daniel - well I should have he was the main character in Monarch of the Glen. But that accent. . . I suppose it was English not Australian, wasn't it?

It certainly wasn't Scottish.

Punishingly Intricate

Oh, our dalmatian would be the happiest dog in the world if she could wear a dog caftan.

Oh! That's right! I remember pictures you have posted of her. So funny.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: adding much-needed zombies to the Austen classic

A review. The reviewer doesn't like Jane Austen.

I couldn't finish it. But I expect if you were the kind of person who loves both Austen and zombies, this book would just plain knock your socks off.

But check this out:

And Quirk Books, the publisher of P&P&Z, was kind enough to give us an exclusive link to the first three chapters online for free, so you can make up your own mind

First three chapters of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

I don't think the book is on sale yet.

Heh.

A mammoth project is also under way to rewrite the whole of the newspaper's archive, stretching back to 1821, in the form of tweets. Major stories already completed include "1832 Reform Act gives voting rights to one in five adult males yay!!!"; "OMG Hitler invades Poland, allies declare war see tinyurl.com/b5x6e for more"; and "JFK assassin8d @ Dallas, def. heard second gunshot from grassy knoll WTF?"

I love how the Guardian article ends:

According to unconfirmed rumours, Jim Buckmaster, the chief executive of Craigslist, will next month announce plans for a new system of telepathy-based social networking that is expected to render Twitter obsolete within weeks
