And I wonder, what possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not sure what you mean, exactly.

Her dad's black, but she seem casts as white. I mean, is she too white to be Will Smith's onscreen girlfriend? He tops out at Latina.

So that was the big secret?

Pretty much. It kinda tied into why he died, but not how I'd have expected-- he was trying to integrate Libertyville, but the mortgage he approved for a black guy got cancelled and the black guy flipped.

Punishingly Intricate

I am kind of fascinated that Rashida Jones is playing parts that are, if not white, at least not racially defined or discussed. I guess she's white enough that a lot of people don't know she's biracial...

Yeah, I've only seen her in parts where her race is never brought up.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I just got taken off my work project due to budget cuts. It's not being laid off, precisely, but since I'm a contractor, I'm the first to go. The company will send other work my way if they have it. No idea how likely that is.

“Not dead yet!”

Kathy-- He didn't.

The fight and the actual death occurred at different locations.

Actually, weren't there two different fights? The one that ended up killing him took place where the death was. And then the one with the brother in law.
