Demand water heaters:

One way to save a lot more energy than a demand water heater is a hot water recirculator. Uses hot water flowing out to heat water coming in. Some have storage, some don't. But the shower and washer use the most hot water anyway, so the ones without storage save almost as much as the ones with. One point about demand water heaters. They last longer than normal water heaters, so they may pay for themselves faster than energy savings alone account for.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

God, tommy. I have all sorts of thoughts about this kind of people that I'd keep to myself.

I'm a freshwoman, but I rent a place with 2 roommates. After 3 years of boarding school and 2 years of army, I had enough of compulsory roommates (even though I spent most of the last year of boarding school in a room of my own, when the staff was considerate enough to understand that I won't be able to study (and as one of the top students of school, raise the bar) with 2 night owls as roommates).

We so need to get that island of our own. I love you people, and want to wreak vengeance on anyone who's trying to make your lives harder than they already are.

Coding and Sleeping

The new song was "The Andyman Can" but I can't remember the lyrics.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Wow, tommy, I too thought I had had a bad freshman year experience. My roommate moved all my stuff to another room 9trading me for her friend) and did not tell the girl living there that I was moving in.

This dispute actually made it up the ResLife chain, but the focus was not that this girl PACKED AND MOVED ME, but that I was too nice and should try to fit in more.

Punishingly Intricate

I lived in a triple attached to a double my freshman (and sophomore years) in the nicest dorm on campus. My one roommate started sleeping w/ her boyfriend from home's best friend who was at Boston College (we were at BU) and basically moved in with him by the end of September. The other roommate, who was possibly the loudest speaking person I've ever known, got kicked out of the dorms for dealing drugs in like October. And I had the triple to myself for the rest of the year. I almost moved out and got an apartment sophomore year, I didn't want to live with strangers, but it was too expensive. So I ended up with two women who I lived with for the rest of college, one year in the dorm and 2 off campus. And one is my best friend to this day!

We just went out for lunch and could sit outside!!! On the water. Man, I'm going to miss working down here so much.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

My freshman year roommate glued straw hats to the walls.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So, if I say this Lennon Sisters bit is queer, you understand that I'm imagining how Varla Jean, Lypsinka, Lady Bunny, and RuPaul would do it?

Worst thing that I remember from mine was when my roommate and another of the suitemates (2 doubles and 2 singles on a little hallwway) decided to decorate the walls of the hallway. At 2 am. Using an industrial stapler. On the wall to the room where I'd just fallen asleep.

Next morning they told me I was scary and really really quiet when I was mad.

I had pretty decent housing experiences. Stayed in that room for 2 years, half without a roomate, one semester in student apartments and then had an apartment off campus the last year, to save money.

I won't talk about my suitemate abroad nor the manburger guy. Both found unwashed dishes in their beds.

Happy birthdays to Noah and Grace!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Both found unwashed dishes in their beds.

ah, we're seperated at birth.

I just got an itty bitty raise. I would have preferred and increase of vacation days, but that is an impossibility. I feel lucky to get what I got.

Punishingly Intricate

When I was in grad school in Greensboro I had a couple of just out of undergrad guys living in the apartment below mine (it was a house split into two apartments). They were nice guys but they worked at restaurants and would occassionally bring their work friends home and party loudly in the middle of the week. One time I had to go down with a hammer to knock loudly enough on the door so that they could hear me so I could tell them to turn down the music. To their credit, they did turn it down and really cut back on the partying at home after that.
