Back from scary tax appointment! And it was not as scary as I thought! I am looking up medical stuff for possible more deductions, but even if they don't work, I have enough money to cover the IRS-age right now!
YAY!
And I am fluctuating between Amber Romanace (which my sister gave me because of her allergies, and I like more than I thought I would, and Philosophy's Pink Lemonade or B&BW's Lemon Verbena, which I think is discontinued -- grrr.)
All gels -- I don't love the bar. Of soap. Er.
I had a thought when I started reading this thread, but now that I've gotten to the posting box, it's gone.
I have totally failed at giving up chocolate for lent.
I am on day three of a headache. I don't know what I did to my brain, but I am sorry and I take it back.
certain people won't use perfectly good soap that they were given as a gift just because it's too pretty.
This drives me crazy. I used to get adorable little soaps for my MiL's Christmas stocking until DW and I discovered ALL of them (several years worth) safely tucked away in a drawer. We stole some of them - shhh, don't tell! - and I stopped buying them. Then we stopped doing stockings altogether, which was actually a good thing.
The soap I gave java and JZ is from here: [link]
It's called dairy whip and is made with goat's milk and cocoa butter. It comes in a couple dozen scents, often using botanicals from the owner's herb garden and honey from her bees. She may also keep goats for the milk, I can't remember. It is close in texture to Crisco. I use it as shaving cream and it is AWESOME.
Sadly, it does not ship well, due to (as java noted) shoddy packaging.
ETA: It is nowhere close to $32.
Glam, I just have piles and piles of beautiful soaps people have given me throughout the years. I put them out for guests and even the guests don't think they should use them! And this one bar of soap I've got (that megan keeps teasing me about) was purchased at Needless Markup and it's beautifully packaged. It ougghta be: I saw it at Gumps and it was $32! For a bar of soap!!
Sadly, it does not ship well, due to (as java noted) shoddy packaging.
I didn't call it shoddy! I like it 'cause it's no frills, like me!
I also have a lot of lovely soaps that people have given me. Sadly, many many kinds of soap make my skin break out, so I generally stick to a couple of safe ones. Still, the gift ones are very decorative in my bathroom.
Happy Birthday, Allyson!
In non-soap news, the studios at the mgmt company I've had my eye on are now down to $1050 ($200 less than they were in December), which means I can basically commit to moving despite the fact that we still have no news about raises.
