Ford Escape Hybrid?
Is that the one ND was trying to sell a while back? 'Cause if so, yeah, total ideal car for me. Except you know, for the price. In general hybrids wouldn't be that great for us because 95% of our driving is highway at 75. We never brake. Okay, obviously not never, but not often.
Anymore, we have most of our instruments at the locations, so we're never loading the full van except for cross country trips. So it seems foolish to keep driving it when we don't need to, particularly with the five grand or so we've put into it in repairs over the past six months. OTOH, we did do that, so I suppose we ought to get some mileage out of it now that it's done.

Sat at 8:30PM - go electricity free for an hour. we may try doing this. I think I'll talk to mac about it tonight. If we time it right he could already be in bed. Then again, we may move to try going an hour free in the middle of the day.
Happy Birthday to Allyson!
Happy birthday Allyson!
I wouldn't call my Forester compact, but it's Not Large, and it's AWD, and gets mid-20s mpg.
I bought my Forester while I still had my 1992 Honda Accord and guess what? The Forester has a smaller footprint! But the '92 Accords were pretty long and mos def not "compact".

Maybe the Suzuki SX4 might be a better fit.

Don't know much about it, but it combines cheap and efficient for an AWD car.
Afraid of What!? Strange Fears of Things that Don’t Even Exist
There is a picture of two women in pasties, so it's possibly borderline NSFW
12. Automatonophobia: Fear of wax statues, ventriloquist dummies
13. Gnomophobia: Fear of gnomes
Gnomophobia is the fear of garden gnomes. Of course no one is afraid of a garden gnome if they realize that it’s an inanimate object. However, some people are afraid that the gnome may come to life and attack them. Perhaps this is a childhood fear that some people never grew out of.
15. Bogyphobia: Fear of the boogieman
Seriously, this is a true phobia. Sure, you may have feared the boogieman when you were a child, but some people don’t outgrow it. Some individuals have been known to have full blown anxiety attacks from fearing that the boogieman will get them.
I have Sleestak fear. And of My Little Pony dolls being controlled by an evil cat.
Do Mythbusters filming antics count as spoilers? 'Cause they just
blew a bunch of windows out a mile from their site trying to blow Buster's socks off.

Awesome!
My officemates got KFC today and offered me some. Fried chicken is my total kryptonite! (If kryptonite was something that superman loved loved loved to eat!) My whole (tiny) office smells like fried chicken now. But I ate the pasta that I brought instead (whole wheat with swiss chard, onions, olives, golden raisins, toasted almonds, and some shredded parm...sounds weird but is delicous!).
It helps that boyfriend and I had really good fancy fried chicken before i left Chicago on Monday evening. Sadly what also helps is having been to the doctor this morning seeing what i currently weigh. bah!
