Natter 63: Life after PuppyCam

Of all the times for me to actually go to bed at a reasonable hour, it would be when you return to us, Shir. I'm glad you survived exams.
At least my reason for going to bed early was that I have a brand new mattress to try out. In four decades of life, this is the first time I've ever had a new one. But back and shoulder pain were getting to me, so it was definitely time. When I went to the mattress store, the guy asked me whether I liked firm or soft, and I told him, "I have no idea, I've never had a new mattress, so I don't know what new firm or soft feels like." So he had me try them all out. Firm? Was too firm. Medium felt good. Soft felt... like I couldn't move. So I went for medium. Also, it being a Serta, I got a cute little stuffed sheep toy as a bonus. I gave that to the cats.
Hooray for Shir finishing tests!
... and hi Natter! it's been a while.
oh Theo, I second Laura, today would be best. I wish you had some help and many many hugs.
I slept in, which was grand. of course I did wake up every hour from 6-9 wondering where mac was before I remembered. Now I need to get dressed for lunch date.
Sox, I have another package for you! I'm not so good at getting these out in a timely manner am I?
Anyway, I'll try to call ita later in the AM.
Hey, I just discovered that ION is showing the Color of Magic tonight.
Is this a good adaptation of the book?
(It does have Sean Astin and Tim Curry in it and Jeremy Irons.)
Sumi, I caught a showing of that a month or two ago, and it was fun, especially because Astin was note perfect as Two Flower.
Timelies all!
Went to a house concert last night and saw Roy Zimmerman. Lots of fun.
Hi Shir, nice to see you around.
Take care of yourself, too, Theo. Forgive me if I sound like a buttinsky, but maybe it would help if you could bring in more care for her. Half an hour twice a day isn't much relief for you.
I better go make breakfast for the kiddies. They want pancakes, but I just want one of the scones I made yesterday: almond meal in the batter, with dried cherries and chocolate chips.
Ooh! Pratchett!
Good, Kat, keep us posted.
I started out my spring break by waking up at six with a nosebleed. Not on, universe! And Dave had a rough night, too, so we're skipping church, and he's sleeping in.
But it's a pretty day, and there was a flock of about fifty robins tooling around this morning. Must be spring, I think they're rounding up to head up toward you northerly folks.
We're back from a short staycation. Took the kids to a hotel near Appleton which had a fantastic pool area (slide, kiddie pool, etc.) Had a wonderful time except for last night I nearly had to cockpunch some ADULTS in the hot tub who were laughing at Owen's idiosyncratic speech patterns. Fuckers.
Thanks for checking on ita, Kat.
Theo, I'm sorry about the stress of dealing with your mom's stuff. I'm glad you've got an optimistic approach and that the issues are fixable. You're a wonderful caretaker.
