Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The catalogs I get have shown a lot of puffed sleeves. Have we learned nothing from the bridesmaid dress?

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I just got a couple of catalogs in the mail this week, and the styles are so unflattering -- sort of shapeless, tunic-y things that seem very 80s to me -- that I think I'll find it easy to not buy any new clothes in the near future

I think Teppy and I get the same catalogues. Seriously horrible stuff.

What's the last thing that made you smile?

Dress rehearsal yesterday. My kids did great, but there was one point where 2 kids ran right into each other because they weren't looking. It was hysterical. Luckily, they thought so, too. They just laughed and got out of each other's way. Then, later in the show, a girl holds up a "DUMB" sign and a "BRAINY" sign. She held up the "BRAINY" sign upside down (not on purpose).

Silhouettes?

Punishingly Intricate

lisa, either the wknd of 28/29 or 4/5.

oh, cool, I'll be around both those weekends.

I have gotten rid of a lot of clothes in the last couple weeks. 5 big garbage bags full, donated, and another couple of bags trashed. And I'm sure I could get rid of more. I'm feeling extra chubby right now and not wanting to buy clothes but also I'm tired of most things I own. blah. I wish I was a better thrifter. My favorite things are hand me downs from my best friend in SF who is an amazing thrifter.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I get those catalogues, too. I was digging the ubiquitous wrap dress, but the new stuff is bad.

The new clothes really suck--way too high school (aka, 1980s) for me. I'll probably pick up some polo shirts to replace the ones I got last year (they were cheap, so they shrunk a bit and got pilly in the past 12 months). I'll get those cheap again this year since I'm hoping to be a size or two down this time next year.

The echocardiogram went all right, although it was a bit more of a saga due to the extra body fat getting in the way. Also, if I lie on my side for too long, the blood flow to my leg gets cut off and it starts to fall asleep, so I kept trying to shift off the side before the nurse wanted me to.

When they injected me with the stuff that made my heart race, I started having my very first ever panic attack! I was really freaking out over my heart going so fast. Even though my rational brain knew what was happening, my lizard brain took over and had me tearing up. The doctor and nurses liked it because it got the rate up even higher.

It never hurt, but it was something I definitely don't want to have to go through again anytime soon.

Did they handle it okay, though, ultimately?

Oh, yeah, it just took a little longer and required something called Definity to enhance the pictures. They added that to the IV before they started with the heart-racing meds.

That's good. I get my fat activism on big time when people have bad healthcare experiences due to idiots who don't treat them well because of excess weight.

I did get a little ticked off when one of the nurses, who I had been chatting with about losing three pounds since last week and how I was doing it, asked me, "How did you let yourself go like this?" But, I figured I'd opened the door to comments about my weight due to the conversation we'd had. She's on Weight Watchers herself, but that comment got my back up a bit.

That was the only even close to negative comment out of anyone there, though, so I wasn't too bothered.
