I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2008: "...and the horse you rode in on."

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2008? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

I kind of hope it doesn't get mailed until Halloween. It has to be some sort of record!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I think I've been forgotten.

Our wings are not tired

I haven't gotten mine either.

Compassionately intolerant

Wow. My 'sent across the Pond, returned sloooowly and then held for a stateside visit' delay of last year has been eclipsed.

Best of luck to both senders and receivers.

Mine is in balance. I'm also one of the offenders who hasn't sent mine yet. The parts for it are all purchased and ready to be boxed up and I keep not getting that last part done.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

::shrugs::

I was kind of sad back in January, but now I've just accepted that it's my karmic debt for being shite and unreliable in so many other circumstances. Because I really do have it coming.

Going to be time to start thinking about the 2009 Secret Santa Exchange soon, eh? I'll likely still sign up, 'cause it's fun making up presents, and I did manage to mail it (despite my frequent crapitude with the mailing thing) but it will be in a more zen state of mind, I think. If I get something back, that's nice, but it's not the reason for doing it. Better to give than receive, and all that jazz.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Perhaps we just shouldn't call it a seekrit santa, but annual gifties, or something like that. Then pft! no angsties.

Thanks, Santa, for the copy of John Waters' memoirs...did he sign it? Very cool. Love him.

Swouncing

OK, so we've slacked fabulously, to shame all other slackers in the world, but since it'll very soon be the time for another gifts exchange (if people are interested, of course), the current slacking should get a bit less, um, slack.

So, I'd like to put some order in things, and for that, I need your help: giftees who haven't received their gift yet, could you please e-mail me, so that I can find out what's the what on the other side of the gift-giving channel?

Thanks!

[Edit: I'm writing here and not e-mailing individually because in the past there were gifts which were not reported here, and I just nagged that Secret Santas who were way less of slackers than I made them look. Sorry if it's a nag in-thread!]
