Jeez, don't get all Movie of the Week. I was just too cheap to buy you a real present.

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That's you, isn't it, Trudy? Singing along like a mofo?

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

You should contact the photographer and try to get a print, Trudy.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That is indeed me, mofoing away.

He had been going around with the mic but at that point he stayed put for about half a verse. We were there for a while. I looked for pictures for a few days but then gave up.

Tom, you are brillant! I will absolutely do that.

Hmm...

I will probably download and THEN contact her about prints.

There is one other in that set of a good friend of mine getting lifted out. If its not too pricey I'd love to give it to her framed for Christmas.

The band that opened the Leathermouth/MSI show was called Tub Ring. And the blew. the. place. a. way.

I have never seen a crowd (especially one as hyped to see "their" band as Mindless fans get) take to an opening act like that before. And as far as I could tell even though they've toured with Mindless in the past nobody seemed to know who they were.

So, if you get the chance, go see Tub Ring. [link]

They're not just spectacle, they're pretty impressive musicans as well as being maniacs.

They have a few shows coming up:

Dec 16 2008 8:00P Al’s Bar Lexington, Kentucky
Dec 17 2008 8:00P The Keswick Democratic Club Louisville, Kentucky
Dec 18 2008 8:00P Southgate House Newport, Kentucky
Dec 19 2008 8:00P Skelletone’s Grand Rapids, Michigan
Dec 20 2008 8:00P Rhino’s Bloomington, Indiana

Also, they were touring with an extra guitarist, Curtis RX, who's in a band called Creature Feature [link]

They have just one show coming up at the end of the month in Seattle.

Dec 28 2008 7:00P Home For The Horrordays@ El Corazon w/ Schoolyard Heroes Seattle, Washington

Curtis is pretty amazing (even if he does drink "whisky and diet". and I am forced to tell the bartender, "that drink is not mine, it's for this pussy") and I can't wait to see his main band.

I never was much of a horror movie fan, but I'll give them a shot.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I saw Amanda Fucking Palmer last night, and it was one of THE best shows I have ever been to in my life. The performance troupe that is with her (the Danger Ensemble) are amazing, and added a fantastic level of theatricality to her performance. It was just ...

waves hands excitedly

I have no words. It was brilliant, cathartic, and full of punk rock whimsy. I will go see her any time she comes to Seattle.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So are the Dresden Dolls kaput then? Or is this just a side outing?

Did you see the whole kerfuffle about her record label being unhappy with her video because she's got a soft round belly and shows it?
