It's so sad.
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
I was coming here to post that Tim Burgess, the singer of The Charlatans, has been hosting twitter listening parties on twitter with members of the bands that have been pretty great. There was one tonight for Prefab Sprout's Steve McQueen with 3/4 of the band that was pretty joyous. There's a lot of great bands on the schedule, including some 80s classics Lloyd Cole, Billy Bragg, The Pogues, Style Council and The Cocteau Twins. (There's also a lot of Britpop I don't know.) Schedule is here: [link]

That's a fun bunch of musicians!
And now Ellis Marsalis has died. Fuck this disease, and fuck everyone who made it worse. I'm going to bed.
Is it weird that I've been thinking about Rachel Bloom a lot? I mean, she just had a baby this week! And now her friend died? That seems like too much to put together any week.
I'm listening to an awesome New Wave set from local DJ Gregarious at The Liquor Store here in PDX -- it is so great, just perfectly upbeat. I'm dancing in my living room. ;)
Fuck, John Prine died.
It's so sad. He lived in Nashville and was so beloved here. Hard to believe he's gone.
He had an incredible life and a remarkable career.
