Lorne: Snakes? Uh-huh. And they came out of your what? Okay. Okay, well, did they get up there themselves or is this part of a, you know, a thing? No, I'm not judging...Do we fight snakes? Angel: Only if they're giant. Or demons. Or giant demons. Are they giant demon snakes? Lorne: Well, unless this guy's 30 feet tall, I'm thinking they're of the garden variety.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ok, y'all, so I'm getting increasingly serious about my songwriting. I appreciate everyone's feedback on the tune I posted earlier. I'm putting together a little group of people who would be willing to listen to my stuff periodically and let me know what you think. You don't need to be musicians or musical at all, you just have to like to listen to music! I will sometimes have specific questions to ask, or I might be doing the optometrist test...is it better like this? or like this?

First up, I have an opportunity coming up, and I need to whittle down the stuff I have written to a three song demo. So I'd like to send you five to ten songs, and have you choose your favorites. I will probably set up a dropbox specifically for this so you can download at your leisure.

It's kinda hard for me as a beginning songwriter to be bold enough to ask people to listen, so I thought it might help me to have an opt-in group of people I know will be enthusiastic about hearing raw stuff. I won't tread on your generosity too much! I'm thinking after this initial one, maybe once every couple of weeks or so.

Is anyone game?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Over on Tumblr, someone made a fantastic "Film Facts of the Day" post explaining that "The Smiths" were a band made up for Zooey Deschnal to mention in 500 Days of Summer.

People objected to this, and have gone to great (incoherent!) lengths to explain to the OP that The Smiths ARE a real band, everyone knows that.

Other people are going along with the joke, and explaining how the existence of "The Smiths" are an elaborate Internet hoax.

I love this ridiculous series of posts more than I can express. I've been giggling about them all day. [link]
