ita and I had many similar tastes, so didn't even google.

Also, I'm so East Coast+selected Tupac. Can't beat California Love,

IMO, unless it's Montell Jordan.
This Is How We Do It.
Well, and anything off "Off The Wall".
And BBD.
"Poison" (of course), "Do Me", "Thought It Was Me", "Ghetto Booty"
Boyz II Men.
"Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" again, of course.
Some suggestions for these artists
She also mentioned New Edition. I was large with the NE love back in the day and would suggest Candy Girl, though Cool It Now was the big hit and is also awesome.
You know, I must really love you guys to let you see my NE love.
Glam, be out and proud! If loving NE is wrong, I don't want to be right!
I would add "If It Isn't Love"
High-five, Vortex! I went and listened to both songs after posting and I still love it (esp Candy Girl). What a great bop!

See, I was thinking Silk.

Nina Simone, too.
She is definitely in the mix. Probably more than once.
Nina Simone, too.
Sinner Man?
The end credit sequence of David Lynch's Inland Empire is a totally unrelated scene of cast and crew having a fabulous time grooving to that song. After what came before, it somehow became the most uplifting thing I've ever seen David Lynch pull off. So random and so great. I don't know what she would have thought of the rest of the movie (which is the most difficult thing Lynch has done since Eraserhead) but that end credit sequence was like a joyous random video of its own. I think she might have grooved on it.
A new Sleater-Kinney album came out and none of you people told me.
