I found this open in a tab and I don't know where I found it (maybe it was from b.org???), but I thought it might be of interest to people on this thread: Rock's Backpages, it looks like a compilation of articles from many sources. Some free stuff, but mostly behind a paywall. There's free access from universities and libraries that subscribe, so maybe chat it up to your library??? [link]
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
"GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot, who portrayed the role of Flattus Maximus in the band for the last nine years, was found dead today. The cause of death is not known."
He played Flattus Maximus longer than anybody else in GWAR's history.
I didn't realize Gwar were the Menudo of Horror-core.
Wow. The NY Times only just picked up on the Cory Smoot story. Or at least - the Artsbeat only just tweeted it.
