There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Good G-d, Panic at the Disco really did make their new video as bait to lure in the ElderGoth Victorian demographic, didn't they? I just hope someone can convince the costumer to quit slapping random gears on clothes.

The song is DAMN catchy. I've been humming it all day.

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

A good friend of mine was recently commissioned by our city's symphony to write a piece based on poetry by Elizabeth Bishop (as part of a centenary celebration). I got to see the concert last week, and it is posted on the French CBC website. I don't know if people outside Canada can hear it.

It's called "A Short Slow Life." You should listen if you can, because Emily's music is awesome.

eta the link wouldn't embed. Let's see if this works.

Neat Louise! I used to Work with one of the people behind the whole Elizabeth Bishop thing.

So Rufus Wainwright announced he's a father. [link]

The mother is Lorca Cohen, Leonard Cohen's daughter. I suspect they are trying to create some Canadian/Quebec musical superbaby.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is the maternal grandmother also a legend, or is the baby only three-fourths super?

Also, very neat about your friend, Ouise!

According to Wikipedia, the maternal grandmother is an artist, so the baby will be 1/4 mortal.

Or she'll design her own album covers (assuming there are still such things as albums).
