Guess what movie I'm watching.
Did my link inspire you to pull out the video, or was this some wacky synchronistic coincidence?
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

My favorite sappy song is probably "Eternal Flame" by the Bangles.
We are one! This is the first thing that came to my mind too!
I'd also say "Stay" by Michelle Featherstone (used in Wonderfalls), "I Will Remember You" by Sarah McLachlan, and "I Know You by Heart" by Eva Cassidy.
There's some really good sappy songs on the album Sunshine on Leith by The Proclaimers.
besides the obvious "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" I love "Then I Met You" "I'm on My Way" and "Oh Jean"
Oh Jean... Oh Jean... you let me get lucky with you
ain't that sweet?
Sappy songs? "Love Song" by The Cure and "Prettiest Eyes" by The Beautiful South.
Barb, I was able to track down a download of the Phil Spector box set that has the Darlene Love. I'm downloading it now, but it's coming over at a slow crawl.
Oh Hec, you're a god. Especially since I just returned from an unsuccessful excursion to Borders & B&N. Not that I expected to find it, necessarily-- just hoped I'd get lucky.

Yeah, after hearing Kirk yelling "KHAAANNN!" over and over on that song, I just had to revisit the source.
Looks like Brian Viglione has a show at Webster Hall on Friday.
Now that I love him, well, I will be going. I've been on YouTube watching him drum. Oh my.

After having talked about the song all day, I can't get it out of my head, and I'd love it as well, if possible.
Oh Hec, you're a god.
Undeified. After two plus hours of downloading it won't unpack. The hunt goes on.
Of course, there is a way to nab the music off of YouTube if we get desperate.
