I love Bootie. Their mashups are brilliant.
I dreamed last night that I was hanging out with MCR. I choose to believe that means I will see them live at least once this coming year.
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

R.I.P.: Mick Karn and Gerry Rafferty.
Aw, "Baker Street". That was all over the airwaves when I was a kid.
Anyone want to suggest music for a new playlist? I'm starting work on the new book, working title Dark Stars, and I need stuff that's less connected to those words than stuff that's a little on the eerie side, spooky or dark or mournful or full of longing.
How's that for vaguing it up? Examples are, I guess, from the Cold Kiss playlist, which had stuff like The Von Bondies' "Pale Bride" and Shivaree's "Goodnight Moon" and The Devics' "Key" and Smashing Pumpkins' "Stumbleine".
Bright eyes' Devil Town.
I love that song.
Sad.
I recommend The Pierces, Neko Case, and Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter.
Ooh, Neko Case! I have a lot of that, and I don't know why I didn't think of her. Excellent call!
I've been meaning to get The Pierces, too.
Perkins, is that a song you can post?
If you like Neko Case, check out Jesse Sykes. She doesn't quite have the pipes that Neko does, but her music is definitely haunting and mournful.
I will! I have no music budget for the next little while, but I can see what the samples sound like on Amazon. Thank you!
