Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

I think Danger Days is the best CD I've bought in quite a while. I've never really listened to much MCR before but I bought this on a friend's rec, and I am just thrilled to pieces with it. Excellent from beginning to end.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Have you seen the videos, Mala? There is going to be a third in the series:

First is NA NA NA [link]

Got into the FUSE taping today. Lots of standing in the rain, lots of hurry-up-and-wait, lots crew between us and the band BUT COMPLETELY RAD AND ENTIRELY WORTH IT.

Afterwards half a dozen of us hung out long enough to say 'hi'. Mehdi came out and said "Sorry, we have to get over to MTV, can't really stop" but Frank did anyway (as he's Frank and DOES NOT OBEY) because he brought us greenroom bagels. D'awwwww.

Have you seen the videos, Mala?

I had not, but now I'm going to watch them A LOT.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I've been earwormed with alternating "Save Yourself..." and "Destroya" for two days now. It's not a bad thing, actually.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, music peeps. I have a Christmas music emergency. What are some good holiday compilations, danceable, maybe includes some country or current artists, but mostly realtor Christmas party stuff. I've pulled Manheim and Guaraldi and Setzer and a couple of things, but really, I need cheap high number of tracks albums.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Liese, I've got a shit-ton of xmas music I can email you. Or just post on buffistarawk. In fact, I think I've got a couple xmas compilations up there.

But the Motown and classic Soul xmas comps would probably work. I never really get tired of Stevie Wonder's originals like "That's What Christmas Means to Me" or "Someday at Christmas."

Anyway, I have literally about 80 xmas albums in all genres. So, how much music do you need?

And how quickly?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've gotten enjoyable compilations at stores -- Banana Republic for sure, and I forget where else. The stuff I own is heavy on the early 60s, because that's what I like, but I'm sure there is more around. I could actually mail you some of the CDs, if you want?

Like, too quickly, I think! SO forgot about the Christmas party he's dj'ing...today. He's out getting his mohawk done right now; I have no idea what the realtors are going to think about him!
