Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

After listening to Danger Days not even all the way through one time, I feel moved to pronounce it a sci fi post-apocalyptic rock opera with just a sweat-and-aquanet whiff of hair metal. God, I can't wait for the live shows.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

After listening to Danger Days not even all the way through one time

After listening to it more than fifty times, I agree.

I like when Gee goes and has a desert epiphany and then makes a "high concept" album apparently.

But I have to use cruise control when I am listening to it driving. I already got one speeding ticket listening to Na Na Na. I don't need to collect the whole Killjoy set. I just paid Party Poison and we'll call it good.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

That must be some sort of record, Cass. You should tweet the boys, I'm sure they'll be touched.

I'm enjoying how a high concept epiphany in the desert ends up sounding like The Outfield of all fucking things. Cobras, I'd just expect, frankly (seriously, Planetary (Go!) sounds like someone finally locked GABE in the basement). The Psychadelic Furs vibes are more than welcome. I'm not complaining, mind you, they've given me Georgia Satelites in the past so I guess nothing should surprise me.

Not even that part on DESTROYA where Gerard and Frank sound for all the world like they're doing it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So, I'm thinking of making a CD of Pink Floyd covers for my siblings for Christmas. Any suggestions? Right now I have:

  • Wish You Were Here - Rasputina
  • Goodbye Blue Sky - Luther Wright & the Wrongs
  • Another Brick In The Wall Part1 - Luther Wright & the Wrongs
  • Comfortably Numb - Scissors Sisters
  • Interstellar Overdrive - Camper Van Bethoven

Any others? I seem to recall a cool cover of "See Emily Play," but I don't have it. Perhaps I dreamt it?

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Bowie die a cover of "See Emily Play" on Pinups but I can't judge it since I'm unfamiliar with the original.

Oh, that's where I heard it. I have Pinups on LP but not CD, so I haven't listened to it in decades. Was meaning to buy Pinups anyway....

Nice typo I made up there. *facepalm*

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

"When I say, 'Die, Bowie, Die' I'm actually speaking in German and mean 'The Bowie The."

Looks like I'm going to a seekrit My Chem show on Tuesday - about 200 people.

A friend of mine won the tickets. I'm pretty much beside myself and having a terrible time deciding what to wear.
