No studying? Damn! Next thing they'll tell me is I'll have to eat jelly doughnuts or sleep with a supermodel to get things done around here. I ask you, how much can one man give?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Art Crawl!!!

Interesting test/comparison: can you tell the $200.00 flute from the $12,000.00 flute?

(I couldn't!)

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I could tell that they were different, but I couldn't really say that one was better than the other.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The sound is a lot richer on the more expensive one.

I thought it was fairly obvious, to the point where I was sure I would be wrong since I usually "fail" any sort of hearing test.

ETA: That is exactly how I would characterize it Dana.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

The sound is a lot richer on the more expensive one.

Yep, I agree. And the cheaper one is noticeably sharp at a few points.

I'm surprised I was able to pick the right one, too.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

The student flute is silver-plated brass, while the Brannen would be solid silver (or, as notated, a gold head joint with probably a silver body). The type of metal does a lot to change the quality and timbre of the sound. A good flutist can make a bad flute sound pretty decent, but you can pick out differences across the type of metal no matter what. Gold and platinum flutes are prized for just this reason.

Art Crawl!!!

I was figuring that the difference in metal would change the way that the flute held it's tone.

I was surprised to discover that flutes are $$$ier than pianos but it must be the precious metal that is used that makes them that pricey.
