Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
That Jimmy Urine was supposed to be the ladyboy makes my heart SING.
I was astounded to be in the car on the way to the doctor's office and hear, on Philly's 104.5, the new My Chem single! So happy making.
They play a really good mix of alt/indie rock, and they stream, too, if anyone wants to try some internet radio.
Tommy Keene is playing the Hemlock Tavern in Oakland tomorrow (Friday) night! [link]
Apparently, he played Spaceland in LA last night and did the whole Songs from the Film album. If I lived in the Bay Area, I would soooo be there!
Confirmation on the MCR website that "Na Na Na" will be released to iTunes on Tuesday. No word on a video, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
The current rumor is that the new drummer is from Frank's old band, Pency Prep. But there's been nothing to back that speculation.
Whee!
I'm curious about who is drumming but I am okay if it's not a new full-time member just yet.
What Cass said.
And a Pency Prep guy would be great! (But I still miss Bob.)

This is my thought too.
Just walk away from the eternal drummer battle, boys. Don't have "A" drummer.
sighhhh.... Bob...

I think MCR will be okay, but I've gotta say drummers do more to define a band than people suspect.
After John Bonham died Zeppelin just quit.
After Moon died, the Who sucked.
The one album the Velvet Underground did without Mo just sounds like a Lou Reed solo album.
R.E.M. only did one good album after Bill Berry quit.
Even Smashing Pumpkins crapped out without Jimmy Chamberlain.
Once you get big you can always find a better drummer, but it's really hard to find the right drummer.
I don't know any great band that had an established sound that bounced back with a new drummer.
