You don't speed into the wind
Wasn't it "spit in", not "speed into"?
I think I remember Croce singing "Leroy Brown" on The Sonny and Cher Show. Or maybe it was just Cher singing it?
I remember some show featured the song, including an animated video! Maybe the Carol Burnett show?
I'm pretty sure the animation was on Sonny and Cher (they did a similar one for Cher's "Dark Lady"), but I can't remember if it was Cher singing or if it was the original.

Correct. And "spit" is a euphemism for "piss."

Heh. I figured as much. I'll bet he did it that way in concert.

Looks like it was Cher singing it on the S&C show.

I always enjoy her videos. I get the impression she's a big fan of playing dress-up.
One of her new songs was a free download on Amazon yesterday. Need to give it a few listens.
There's a free SCOTS show tonight just a few blocks from my house tonight, but it's hit 100 today and the show is at a plaza on top of a parking deck. My enthusiasm is waning. There's also a good local band I've been wanting to see even closer and inside, but it really starts too late for a week night. In conclusion, first world music problems.
Man, I'd love to see SCOTS again. Especially since I'm hungry and they tend to throw fried chicken to the audience.
But also because they are freakin' awesome.
I've never seen them! And they're from here! Shameful.
Shame on you! No, they're really really fun. Great music too. Sort of like Creedence with a really twisted sense of humor. (There's a catchy love ode to a goat.)
