Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!

There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

even if the dispenser turned out to have some problems....

You had to make sure the valve was turned off all the way or else it would drip drip drip on the floor for 20 minutes before anyone noticed the huge puddle ambling its way through the kitchen. But it was really cute! And only 20 bucks at Target! [link]

In other, more musical news, check out Springstein's oh-so-white dance moves: [link]

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Jacques Brel and "The Impossible Dream" are just a perfect combination of music and singer.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I prefer Jacques Brel singing "Next."

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I prefer Jacques Brel singing "Next."

Gavin Friday did a nifty cover of that on his first "solo" album.

I have that album! It's the one he did for Island with all the Tom Waits sidemen.

My favorite cover, though, is Scott Walker's.

I have a whole compilation of Brel covers in English, including folks like Bowie, Walker, Marc Almond.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

What are some good Weezer albums since their 1994 self-titled debut?

That would be working under the assumption there's such a thing as a good Weezer album.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Heh. I was thinking "Is there really a bad Weezer album?"

I know Pinkerton is particularly beloved amongst my Weezer-mad friends.

Our wings are not tired.

Ha! Nora just linked to an entry in my friend Carol's blog about cooking her way through the French Laundry Cookbook. And I laughed and laughed because there's a song list to accompany your cooking!

Carol is such a Buffista and she doesn't even know it.

Man, loving the new Nouvelle Vague album.

They've changed the style up a little - this one sounds more cabaret/chamber pop (with a few rootsy touches thrown in - though that would be exotica for the French).
