There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
But nothing really tops an 8 y.o. singing about Santa Claus coming.
Especially when that 8 y.o. is Michael Jackson.
I was given the Jingle Cats CD. It falls into the "one song is cute, an entire album is overkill" category. Though the last track -- a spoken-word story about a homeless cat's Christmas -- brings me to tears just thinking about it.
How about versions of "Baby it's Cold Outside"?
Depending on my mood I veer between Jane Monheit & Steve Tyrell, Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel, or Brian Setzer Orchestra.
It's amazing how many BAD versions there are of that song.
Not as many as "Little Drummer Boy" but still.
I also like Judy Garland's version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." Meet Me in St. Louis is one of my holiday staple films.

I remember Buster Poindexter and (I think) Sigourney Weaver performing it on SNL once, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they sang together.
I like the Ann Margret/Brian Setzer version. I'm also a big fan of the BSO's cover of "The Nutcracker Suite," the Nelson Riddle arranged version, which is on the same album.

I really love Shorty Rogers jazz arrangement of the Nutcracker. It's sooooo fuckin' cool. I should post a few of those tracks. It's straight up West Coast Jazz so it sounds very compatible next to Vince Guaraldi.

Perhaps "lost" is the word. Either way, I couldn't find it and we don't appear to have the ripped version. It's like Paul performed a sneaky Jingle Catectomy on the music collection.
