When did JM come out?
Buffista Music 4: Needs More Cowbell!
There's a lady plays her fav'rite records/On the jukebox ev'ry day/All day long she plays the same old songs/And she believes the things that they say/She sings along with all the saddest songs/And she believes the stories are real/She lets the music dictate the way that she feels.
Wikipedia says he came out in 1982, went back in, then came out again about 3 years ago.
Thanks, FP. That could be the answer.
It's so funny thinking that JM ever actually thought he was "in" a closet.
I never knew Johnny Mathis was gay.
Really??!!
Nope. I guess I've never really considered Johnny Mathis' private life at all. But my friends and I did go through a phase when we listened to a lot of that 50s/60s pop, like Mathis and Doris Day.
...I didn't know Mr. Mathis played for our (MY!) team.
But then, I'm so far out of the gay "mainstream" I live on Mars. The club that Jilli and I dance at is in the basement of the largest gay disco in Seattle. I've been going there for 20 years. I never knew there was a basement until the Vogue moved there.
(sigh)
I never knew until this moment either. But I must admit I never gave it much thought.
This is awesome! From FWMU:
Nouvelle Vague Live at WFMU - hot vidz!
Oh my gawd, y'all, when these people were in Love Room, it was all I could do to keep myself from reaching through the glass and gently stroking their faces as they sang.
The two sexiest voices in English-speaking Frenchpop, covering Sex Pistols, Violent Femmes, Depeche Mode, and Talking Heads....DANG!
Their cover of "Blister in the Sun" is jaw-droppingly awesome. I'm going to grab their new album when it comes out, but their WFMU session was all acoustic, which works really well for them so I'm going to have to grab the audio from these videos or else from the show audio....
