not your mom's socks.

Snow day here too - meaning craft projects and possibly pretzel making later on. Sadly, rain is already making the snow into slushpiles of despair.

oh, and I'm downloading Kung Fu Panda. Again, Raq - all your fault.

Gris - it sounds like exciting moves are on the horizon no matter what, and that you are giving a lot of thought to all of it. Much happiness to you -

Sparky, please pet the sassenfrass for us and tell her peoples here say hi.

I'm dorking around on LinkedIn - some interesting jobs in the job list, but not much so far in the area I'm really, really interested in.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Gris, I'm glad for you that you are happy now, and that you have what sounds to me like a very sane plan to continue (and possibly increase) that happiness.

Omnis, have fun on your date.

Shir, I'm sorry, I don't know the author of that paper, but yeah, I sure do understand why you would want someone who actually knows him to offer an introduction between the two of you.

vw, here's to snow days - may you get some fun out of yours, as well as accomplishing all you wish.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

some of the times after the shiny has worn off and you find yourself ready to kill each other (when you feel like you're living that Avenue Q song, "There's a Fine, Fine Line").

I think you mean "The More You Love Someone (The More You Want To Kill Them)" (And yes, I know the racist spelling is the technically correct one, but I just can't bring myself to type it.)

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'm debating whether or not to head into work (well, to the campus that's closer to my house than the place that houses my actual desk) or not. I've got shitloads of work to do, and my connection to the work network is kind of iffy from home.

Plus, if I try to work at home, I will find laundry, etc. far more interesting than actual work.

Because books.

Schools are closed up here in every direction south, west, and east of us, but even though it's snowing like mad, our town did not close schools. I'm willing to bet they're going to have close early, though. We're supposed to get 10 to 14 inches before it stops.

Also, my uncle just friended me on Facebook. Um.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Thanks, Sparky! I'll let you know.

See, now that's SNOW! We've got like a dusting so far, and everything's closed. It's insanity.

Also, my uncle just friended me on Facebook. Um.

Ah, yes! The joys of extended family on FB. I have three aunts, and uncle, etc. One of my mom's cousins friended me the other day. I haven't decided what to do about that one yet.

See, now that's SNOW!

It'll go so well with the 18 inches already on the ground. ::sobs::

My uncle is really supportive and enthusiastic about my writing, and sometimes Googles me to see if he can find anything new. It's very cute, and he's retired now, so I know he's got time on his hands, but man, I didn't think he even knew what Facebook was.

Oh, yes!

I'm hoping we don't get the high estimate of what's forecasted, because there's just no where to park anymore! The piles of snow are taking all the parking places on the street!
