Slay-er? Chosen One. She who hangs out a lot in cemeteries? You're kidding. Ask around. Look it up: Slayer comma The.

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Oh, I love the PCH! I guess it takes a lot to get me queasy, because I take any excuse to drive it instead of the 101. It's very slow going because of the curves, and sometimes it feels like you're going to slide right over the edge into the ocean, but that's the thrill of it. And this from someone who doesn't do heights.

Punishingly Intricate

I love the PCH too! But I have to be the driver otherwise I get the motion sickness.

I'm so glad to hear your hub was able to tap into his diplomatic training at such an awful time

I want to hear more about the hostage taking.

re: the PCH.

Hubby was driving a Forest Service firetruck there sometime in the 70s when he was passed by a tire and hub assembly. At the same time, he realized that said tire and hub had come off of one of the rear axles of his firetruck. After several seconds of very careful driving, he found a turn off.

I pretty much trust him driving anything, when his drugs aren't playing with his brain.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Yes, this. I don't get ill on the bike, but I remember feeling a bit iffy in a car.

re: Hwy 1/PCH: I'm going to miss the Devil's Slide part once they finish the bypass. At least it'll be open for foot traffic.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have many happy memories of driving along HWY 1 and looking at the ocean and even getting queasy and not minding it a bit because it was so beautiful. As kids we'd beg my parents to take PCH when we went on vacation, and my mom hated it because she had a terrible fear of heights. She'd insist on driving because it helped take her mind off the huge cliffs dropping down to the sea.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

for some reason the PCH doesn't bug me -- but lots of other much narrower roads with switchbacks and cliffs have me convinced that we are going to die.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

juliana, I know you probably prefer open air and ocean, but Mr. Jane and I took a ride just west of Dallas down these little country back roads (the weather was above 70 a week ago) with leafy trees and pastures. Beautiful and I thought you would love it.

move out and draw fire

Thanks guys. I posted in Beep Me and then promptly fell asleep for several hours.

But I'm back at home where they have internet! Being in the hospital was like being on an airplane...for four days. Without even airplane food.
