I will ask CJ his recipe tonight. He has been the family cranberry sauce maker for a few years and it is YUMMY!
Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries; 1/2 orange, zested; 1-1/2 cinnamon sticks; 1 cup orange juice; 1 cup packed brown sugar.
Throw it all in a saucepan, add enough water to cover, bring to a boil then simmer for an hour or until it has thickened.
Nom, nom, nom.
Mash up the cranberry sauce so that it's not can-shaped.
No! The can-shape-ness is the best part!
ignores the can-shaped cranberry talk of the cranberry heretics
I have Alton Brown's overnight cinnamon rolls in the oven. Made them up last night, finished proofing this morning. I'm now about 20 minutes away from being able to eat them. I am getting very impatient!! It smells so good.
The can-shape-ness is the best part!
Seriously! Especially when you can still the ridges!
The ridges are there to guide your cutting. Nice, even slices.
So, who's got a good cranberries recipe for Thanksgiving. It's the only thing I'm not sure about
We use the recipe on the back of the Ocean Spray bag but cut the sugar by half.
I am a heretic and add orange zest as well.
The can-shape-ness is the best part!
Seriously! Especially when you can still the ridges!
Oh you HAVE to have the ridges! Otherwise it's just a tube-shaped lump of cranberry congeal-y stuff.
