Much love to you and Anna today. I can only begin to imagine what you're going through, and I wish I could be there to offer a hug or a shoulder.
'Serenity'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

{{askye}} You and Anna will be in my thoughts today.
Jilli & Plei, I'm glad to hear that you're still working, but I'm sorry morale is so low there right now.
{{Bitches}} When I lived in Buffalo, one of my professors had a lecture he'd give right around the 1st of February about how no one should make important decisions, judgments, etc., about life in February - the weather is bad, there's not enough sunlight, and if you hold off for a month you might very well see signs of Spring (less likely in Buffalo). Hang in there, Bitches.
In good news, I get to see Sox & family this weekend. My DH invested in new balloons (for balloon animals) in the hope that Iris would ask him for one or two or ten.
I heard back from my boss. Actually, I just chatted with her on IM. She said, "Oh, please! If that's the most offensive game the kids hear about at school, we're in good shape." Phew! And, she told me to breathe. Heh.
CC of my note to Teppy, who in her LJ says we're living in a parallel universe now that we have President Obama:
This isn't the Mirror Universe, the last 8 years were.
I get the feeling there is a parallel universe out there that got the good President GWB, the one who was kind, thoughtful and studied in school. Of course he was locked up, along with human rights champion Dick Cheney.
I think the GWB and Cheney we got shaved their Mirror Universe beards to fit in.

I'm sorry things aren't going too well in Redmond right now. Good luck to all who are involved in things there.
I woke up this morning with "One Toke Over the Line" playing in my head. Where the heck did that come from?

I dunno, but thank you very much, now I have it.
{{{askye}}} you and Anna are in my thoughts.
Thanks for the ~ma guys. Everyone is holding up remarkably well, under the circumstances-- the service is this morning and then the family will sit shiveh.
Mild giggle of the day yesterday, when one of the cousins was relating the instructions the rabbi had given regarding food and drink, she said, "Well, the rabbi told us that from the time of death until the burial, no meat and no wine... but Scotch is okay."
And for some reason, that struck us all as terribly funny.
{{{askye}}} I know it's hard.
And belated {{{Sean}}}-- somehow, I doubt very strongly that you suck. Listen to all the smart people around here.
And because it deserves its own post, belated birthday wishes for Windsparrow!

Scotch is a good choice.
