Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Andi, I hope you feel better soon.

bonny, I hope you get to talk to Nikki, and Gordon, soon.

Karl & MM, very, very briefly: yesterday's court decision was ostensibly about police negligence w/r/t records, that is, an error of fact. The previous case was about errors of law. Regardless, the Herring opinion was not narrowly written, and that means the law professor blogosphere is in a tizzy today.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Today's lesson in Why We Need Editors:

"The patients were 58% male."

Chromosomal anomalies? Transsexuals who are in the middle of transition surgery?

We're such nerds here that we love finding sentences like that.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

"The patients were 58% male."

Heh.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Laura, I hope you and your family can have a healing day today. If not exactly healing, I am glad you are all there for each other.

Kristin, I'm so sorry about your student. This is actually somewhat similar to my uncle's situation a few weeks ago- his brain function after several days was considered to be severely impaired (by delay in intubation by the responding EMTs). He had left very, very clear instructions about life saving measures if he underwent brain damage and required equipment to stay alive, so at least we are pretty sure that we did the right thing by him.

I don't know why I'm sharing, it's probably not helping you. I guess I just wanted you to know that I understand how hard this is, and I'm so, so sorry that this girl, her family, friends, and community are going through this.

Because books.

"The patients were 58% male."

I like mine at least 83% male, frankly.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Thanks for all the good vibes, all. Let's add a reddish tint to the junk I'm spitting up. Had to reschedule appointment for later in the afternoon, as the vehicles would not start this morning. After a heroic effort, Daniel got 'em going. So we let my car warm up for about half an hour, and I think it will be ok for later.

Nora, I was glad to hear the felines are getting things ironed out between them. It sounds like you have got a feel for how much space they need, yet are letting them work it out for themselves.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

You can expect some meowing and tussling. That's setting rules for each other. It can also be playing. Our guys have mega-battles all the time still and they probably always will. If one of your cats is a drama queen, playing might involve vocal histrionics.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Continued ~ma for Gordon and Kristin's student.

Health~ma to WindSparrow.

Nora, sounds like you are doing the right thing. Also sounds like they will work it out. Yay!

IOKittyN, our baby kitties (momo and Casper) continue their love affair. We find them curled up together, grooming each other daily and it's so effin cute! Bianca continues to dislike Casper and kind of like the mo. Casper gets fixed tomorrow. It's time and all, but I'm nervous about it. If something happened to that cat, I would be pretty devastated. He is totally mama's baby boy.

Ann, that's a ferret.

((((Laura))))

((((Kristin)))) I don't know if you've gone through anything like it before, but nothing freaks out high school students like the death of a classmate from illness.
