Now you can luxuriate in a nice jail cell, but if your hand touches metal, I swear by my pretty flowered bonnet, I will end you.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Ugh, beth- I have no advice but I know the madness and frustration of the health insurance game.

Cat update: I opened the door to Marley's room so Taz could see in and Marley could see out. Taz hissed softly, but otherwise was OK. He seemed like he wanted to come in, so I let him in, and that was fine. Then both he and Marley went out, Marley exploring the house, and Taz following him worriedly. It went well, except I could tell that Taz was starting to get stressed out, although he was very well behaved. I scooped Marley up and brought him back up to his room, much to his disappointment, but Taz needed some space and I wanted to quite while ahead.

I'm down here with Taz, because I think he needs reassuring. I think Marley is OK alone upstairs, he's so laid back. Once Tom comes home we can divide and conquer.

I hauled ASS to get home on the early side so I could feed the cats at a decent time- Tom has a late appointment tonight. Having a new member of the family is hard work!

I'm at home tomorrow and there will be more interacting.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

I have no more news about our student, but I thank you all greatly for all of your support.

What I do have is a nasty, condescending, passive-aggressive attack on one of my essay assignments from one of my senior parents. Really, it's pretty awful. He basically used a peer editing form (that was in theory there to help him to help his daughter reflect on her rough draft) to rail against the stupidity of the assignment because it was "too hard" and "too sophisticated" for mere 17-year-olds to possibly do. This student is a sweetheart and has never given me a second of trouble, so I'm really taken aback by the arrogance and nastiness of his responses to these questions.

There's more, but today has been too fucking depressing to dwell on any further. I'm going to go home and pretend the world doesn't exist for a little bit, I think.

Sorry to skip and be all meme. It's just been a shitty day.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Is there a polite way to respond, "Nonsense. The assignment might be beyond your abilities, but they are certainly within hers. If you can't help, at least don't slow her down."?

Thrive to spite them

I need some ~ma and it seems selfish to ask, but I need to sleep for a variety of reasons I haven't been. I'm stressed and frazzled right now and I do understand a lot of it (go team self awareness!). First there's the aforementioned lack of sleep (I didn't get to sleep Saturday until 4 am Sunday morning, then my nap was derailed,a nd then I destroyed my headset, etc and so on).

Plus there's the babysitting of my nephew, who is so adorable and I love. I didn't go over there this weekend since I'm all snappy and grumpy for major lack of sleep. But I'm not doing well at all. It's been get up, leave work, lunch with Mom and nephew, go to her place after work, get home between 7:00-8:00 most nights.

And I'm just.. I don't do well with my routine messed with and I don't do well on a lack of sleep so right now... I'm not doing well. Or at least I'm trying.

Our wings are not tired.

Dogs on retractable leashes tend to come with owners on cell phones.

Retractable leashes are of the devil.

I use a retractable leash. I do not use a cell while using it.

I guess I am really the devil in disguise. Man, y'all can be a judgmental posse. Any of you have met Chile and thinks she has behavior problems? Yeah. Didn't think so. She NEVER goes up to kids, as she has no interest in little people and will actively avoid them when possible.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I used a retractable leash with Mac. But it was always locked. I mostly used it because I couldn't let her run loose in the city (there were no nearby dog parks). So when we got to an empty field, she could at least get a run going.

When we bought the house the local ordinance for dog leashes specified no more than 6', so the retractable leashes were a nono.
