Willow: Were there dolphins? Tara: Yes. Many dolphins at the pound. Willow: Was there a camel? Tara: There was the front of a camel. A half-camel.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

dorky reasons

Does it have to do with an infinite improbability drive? I've always wanted one of those.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Crap. My foot is looking slightly purplish.

This is pathetic. Shoes should not be able to do this.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Typo Boy, I understand the use of "you". Though it seems mostly to bug others, I read it as the very Hebraic version and abbreviation in English for "you couldn't possibly think that".

Also, I wanted to say something about the whole idea of "pain" and "suffering" (the quotation marks are there not because I don't believe there aren't any, but because I think those are relative terms and there is no scale for them). What actually bugged me a little bit is that in your last post you seems to relate only to the Palestinian's pain and suffering. This is not to say I don't think there isn't any, or that it's worse (again, I do see Gaza Strip as hell, at most times), but to emphasis that Israel doesn't act like it does out of pure arbitrariness, though it's very easy to see it this way. There's also a huge scare of terror here, after it invaded our lives in every single form. And it's alters the way the country reacts to threats, even if there isn't a threat at all, really. It's been a long time I'm claiming my country, and perhaps most of the world has PTSD, judging by the way it's reacting. Unfortunately, I can't see U.S or U.N as good therapists for this.

Another thing I wanted to tell you about is a demonstration that was in my university yesterday. It began as a Hadash demonstration (btw, this is the party I'm voting for). After a short while, a lot of people against it gathered around it.
For the few moments I stayed to watch, it's good thing there are laws against murder. There was so much hate in the air. The pro-Israeli side (and again: I can't, really can't understand why not even one side think about stopping the violence from both sides) yelled with hate "Israel!" and "see you at the reserve", as in a boy threatening another to "meet me in the yard after school ends and then we'll see who's stronger.
That demonstration made me feel physically sick. I thought about joining the pro-Palestinian side, but again, I think the violence should stop from both of the sides, and I was in a hurry for class.

And third thing about this whole operation. I discovered yesterday I can function properly only if I completely ignore it. Eh.

Hil, I'm sorry to hear about your foot. Nice, hot, helpful and single doctor in the morning~ma to you.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Shir, you may have an interest in Jeffery Goldberg's blog on the Atlantic [link] He hasn't been talking as much as many expected about this, because for him, it hits too close for him to talk, but a lot of what I hear you saying, I've been seeing in his posts, and my heart aches for you both.

I have no idea who he is, but I marked the blog to check. Thanks!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I really want to buy Wii Fit, but I have to wait.

Whoo, Gris on adult relationships! Go you and Improbable Girl!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Wow, Shir, I just wanted to say that your comment about PTSD strikes me as very wise. And if so? Damn, because I don't know how you pull a whole country through something like that.

Our wings are not tired.

Gris, how exciting!

Hil, get thee to a doctor, pronto!

[Whenever Typo uses "you" in this context, I read it as "one".]

Shir, SO weird as I was reading your post and got to the sentence "and it's alters the way the country reacts to threats, even if there isn't a threat at all, really", I immediately thought of post-traumatic stress syndrome!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Hil, much healing~ma for your foot. Yeah, think it's time for actual medical help, there.

Well, it's not really hurting quite as much anymore, just looking slightly purple. I'll see how it is in the morning.
