Morning all. Well, I guess it's technically afternoon here. I guess Timelies Bitches works best.
I awake to hear that vw is healthy! And Happy! Woot! Congrats vw! I think that is an excellent way to start the new year.
I am also happy to hear Shir is safe and sound at her folks house. {{{ }}}! I will take that as a sign that 2009 has started off good, and will only get better.
For a second, it looked like I was going to have to go into work today. Thankfully the Stage Manager was able to get her computer to play the mp3 on her own, and I still have the day off. And yes, it was just an mp3. One would think that would be easy. :: sigh ::
Of course, I'm trying to figure out, what I want to do today.
Who knew Kevin Costner had a band? It looks like he's coming to Dallas. I like his movies. They are playing a song of his. It's a bit country, but not bad. Who knew?

OMG my relatives are going to drive me insane! I cannot even deal with them anymore.
Question: is it insanely slow timing that the memorial service for my uncle (with no casket or ashes) is on Wednesday the 10th? He died on Tuesday night. So it's a week, basically. Throw a holiday in there as well.
Everyone I'm talking to is like, OMG, why so long????
Any thoughts?
(((Norah)))
So, I wasn't here, because I'm still in Scotland. Hoping that none of my friends are among the dead or injured. Which sounds - hell, IS - terribly selfish.
That seems like a long time to me, Nora, but coming from a Jewish family my perspective may be a little skewed.
From a Catholic perspective that seems insanely long to me, Nora. I'm used to a wake maybe two days later and a funeral the day after that.

If it was a funeral, I'd say yes. But a memorial service is a bit different. When my Aunt passed away, they waited over a month for it. So the folks they wanted to attend could attend.

I thought of you immediately when I read the story earlier, Fay, and I'm beyond grateful you weren't there. And my second thought was with yours as well, in hoping that none of your friends were among the victims. Regardless, however, it's terrible.
