[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hil, I'm sorry you're panicking. I am too. Taking a three hour nap when I already have too much stuff to do is no good.

Oh, GC, the memories.I had my fibroids removed a few years ago and have not so fond memories of shuffling around the floor with my IV, pausing every few steps to grunt and attempt to pass gas so I could go the hell home.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Huh. Am realizing I have no clear idea of what fibroids even are.

They're basically a benign mass in the uterus. They attach to the side and hang on. No one knows what causes them. Some women have them and never know it. Some women have them and it causes their stomach to bloat. Some women have them and they cause heavy bleeding and blood clots (me!)

So kind of like a uterine remora? Huh. Hope the healing process goes quickly, GC!

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Vortex, you have felt my pain. Come on gas!!!

“Not dead yet!”

Some women have them and they cause heavy bleeding and blood clots (me!)

And me! In fact, I have The Appointment with the doctor in two weeks to discuss what to do about the bastards.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

24 hours is my understanding - however adults that can function before 48 hours is unusual.

90% of the time -- not a lot of visual clues to how I feel. and 10% of the time I just fall apart

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Poor DW cried as it reminds her of her dad's last days. My poor sweetie.

Hairpats for GC's DW. Watching the one you love in extreme pain is so far from not being fun, it's not in the same galaxy.

Is reassignment an option, Andi? I'm only half kidding.

Yes, but statistically speaking, of the three group homes that I work at, the two that are likely to have a full time position open up that I could grab, would be this one and the one with the resident who bit me back in May. The one house I'd glom onto a full time spot at and never look back, is unlikely to have such an opening until someone dies or retires.

A friend said her doctor told her the same thing, so I'm going to gently put down my cracked pot step away from the paranoia.

Coworkers who have had strep, and could not work at the group homes because they were contagious, were allowed back to work after 24hrs of antibiotics.

(((GC))) I hope both the pain and the gas pass quickly.

All the Christmas gifts are wrapped and before the new year. I have my long to do list written up for tomorrow, and now I am off to bed.
