What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

Totallly did not need to be said twice.

What DOES need to be said is:

Quick healing ~ma to GC. And by quick, Universe, I mean pronto!

And an intercontinental hug to Shir. Ugh. I hope all this aweful resolves into 'inspired' and/or cool fresh start very soon.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

There's a Free Palestine march somewhere outside my apartment. I can hear it, but can't see it. I'm trying to figure out which direction it's coming from -- the direction that it sounds like it's coming from isn't really a place where it would make sense to have a protest. Well, unless the goal is to block traffic. Then it would make it a great place. I think I'm going to go see what's going on, and hope there's no brick-throwing like there was at the anti-IMF protest a few months ago.

OK, I investigated, and talked to a few people. Not sure who organized the march. It was going from the State Department to somewhere on the Mall -- either the Lincoln Memorial or the Vietnam Memorial. I've never seen so many keffiyahs in one place before. No brick-throwing. Lots of little kids, though it may have seemed like more because I only saw the end of the march, and I'd guess that little kids walk more slowly, so the families marching with kids or strollers kind of ended up clumped to the back. Mix of pre-printed and homemade signs. (And for once, everybody's sign was about the topic at hand! I don't think I've ever before seen a protest around here that didn't have about twenty peripheral causes added on.) I didn't hear any of the speeches, just the chanting. I might head on down to listen some more if it's still going on after I finish dinner

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Does anyone know of a website where I can print out an IOU for a night of babysitting as a gift? I'm looking for something that is prettier and more official looking than just writing the words out in a card.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Heal quickly, GC. Take advantage of the good drugs. See if you can slip some to DW.

My father was bipolar and self-medicated with alcohol. I grew up with much yelling and drama. I became the person who was calm in emergencies, who fixed things that were broken and who tried to make everything go smoothly, while people around me threw fits and got their own way. My childhood made me so conflict averse that I would rather give in than deal with hostility. Someday I'm going to throw my own screaming fit.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

sj, I can't find a lot of free downloads online (Kodak.com has some very nice ones, but you have to actually order them and wait for delivery, so it's not all nice and instantaneous), but I'm bored to tears here at work and I could probably slap together a prettyish something before I go home if you want to email me the specifics.

Somebody please reassure me that my client, who came tonight with strep throat, was correct in her assumption that she is not contageous after having taken antibiotics for just 24 hours.

In other words, please lie to me.

Having just gotten over my own ick...and not having access to antibiotics and wouldn't want to take them even if I did, I'm indesperate need of shaking of the "Oh noes, cooties!" vibe I've got going.

Uh huh. I went to one of their anti-Iraq-War rallies a few years ago, and there were something like five speakers in a row who said nothing at all about Iraq.

bonny, you will be fine and not get sick. Clean your ears with q-tips dipped in hydrogen peroxide just to be safe, but I am sure you will not get sick.
