[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

really made me laugh.

So not what I meant. I was just catching up for the day.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Yeah, Shir -- how long would you be going to your parents' place?

I agree with the desire to be in a safer location, but if you have to travel there via a potentially dangerous route and then come back after only a couple of days' time -- you double your exposure.

On the other hand -- parents. Safety. Would you get to see your sister? Is she going to get that 48 hours' leave she's promised?

I'm leaning strongly towards the go to your parents decision.

She's sleeping right now at home. Ever since she got there, about 13 hours ago. Poor baby.

I won't get to see her. She's leaving on Wednesday at 5am. I'm coming back on Thursday around 10pm.

And I'll be at my parents for the weekend, if I'll go there. I think I'll decide that day, depends on the rocket launches. But basically, it's supposed to be pretty safe.

I know SJ, it was just the timing, and my crazy brain.

I think I'll decide that day, depends on the rocket launches.
Ya, I think that's a good decision.

We've reached the time in the afternoon when O_A gets a lil sleepy. Why can't we have siestas? Seems only fair.

Well, I'm going to bed.

Typo Boy, I waited for Haaretz to translate this article for past few hour. Glad it did.

Wow. That was weird.

I just went out to take Bartleby around the block and found a woman curled up in the fetal position two corners away.

I know her...sort of...She used to be a surgeon and lived a block from me. Now, she's homeless, drunk and apparently when I borrowed a stranger's cell phone to call for help, it was her second brush with the system today.

It's crazy. There she is, sleeping on the cold ground in a goreous 3/4 length leather coat, red hair flowing, snazzy hose and trousers. And drunk, semi-coherent and missing a front tooth.

She lost the tooth since the last time I found her cowering on the street needing someone to walk her home because the voices were too loud.

Ugh. Both my parents and my stepmother were all alcoholics. They succeeded, however, in keeping their homes while they were killing themselves. I just can't imagine how this woman got to this point.

The dickwad who lives on the corner is apparently her ex. He comes out and starts yelling at her while I'm huddled over her waiting for the police. I asked him, three times, to step off and but noooo, he has to prove how much better he is.

Dude, she's homeless and weeping for your help while she's curled up on the ground. You win, you are better than her, so shut the fuck up.

Plus? He used to have this awesome chocolate lab that he gave up when he got a girlfriend. Doing the math, he pitched that wonderful soul for THIS woman. Then again, as I said at the time, the dog is better off.

Sheesh. People.

Meth maybe?
needing someone to walk her home because the voices were too loud.
Yikes. Could she be schizophrenic?

Either way, kudos to you for helping, and boo to him for being a dick. So much for "good times and bad, sickness & health". Oops, I almost started on the marriage/divorce rant.

Must. Stay. Awake. Sleepy. Want to leave work.

Oy. Sorry to bludgeon the thread with my angst.

In other news, I can report that Celestial Seasonings holiday flavor "Sugar Cookie" smells absolutely fantastic. Tastes a bit like warm water, but the smell is really amazing. Makes me wonder about the science of smell manufacture. How DO they do that?

Maybe I need two bags per cup.

No meth that I could discern...missing the bad skin and telltale smell but...

Could she be schizophrenic?
While it sounds like it, not all voices are the same. I'm thinking there is mental illness in play but I'm not so sure about the schizo traits.

If I were to go all pro, I'd say borderline personality disorder with alcohol induced dementia.

Either way, she's the poster child for fubar...if that really exists.

I spent all my time on the ground saying the sorts of things that make me feel better. "You can't count on this guy or anyone else to take care of you. You need to break up with the bottle." All delivered in that warm, southern drawl I seem to use only in cases of emergency. Absolutely NO clue where that comes from.
