I'm going back to DC today. I've still got to pack my suitcase. And I'm presenting at a math conference on January 5, and starting to get really nervous about that.

Andi, I didn't know you wrote fic! Go Team!

It's actually been a while. And it's all Trek smut. It started after a couple of years of yelling at the tv, "Oh, come on, I can do better than that!" at Voyager. And then I started writing to prove it. When Voyager was over, I started watching Buffy, and didn't have that problem any more, so no more fic.

Aside from that, the thing I learned today is, trying to take pictures of black speakers hung in front of black walls is very difficult. So I switched to video so I could at least give a commentary to document the show for next year.

My sister is on a cruise around South america. She will be seeing penguins in the wild today or tomorrow.

Penguins are always a good idea. There are two of them on our tree, and neither is Opus, though the resemblance is there. In my family the word is always said with the intonation Whoopi gave it in her one-woman show. "Penguin, how would you know?"
