'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Did I say something wrong or did you have to run off?

Now tagless for your comfort.

that's feeding my anxiety- that I don't know why the truce was broken.

Laga, Wikipedia has some background.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I'm glad to hear your sister got home okay, Shir.

Thank you so much for the updates.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Sorry, I had to run off. Kind of back now.

So glad to hear. How long is she home for?

48 hours.

that I don't know why the truce was broken

I didn't read the background Cashmere linked to, but I can say that there was never really truce, just a frozen situation. Israel, apparently, suddenly had enough of 8 years of rocket attacks over some of its towns. Now my country fights to change the situation. But they don't say what that change they're aiming for is.

I have friends that were called for reserve. I have friends in the army. I'm gonna have to try and see if there are safer ways to get to my parents' house during the weekends, for half of the way on the bus is now via dangerous areas. Israeli-Arabs are starting to make quite a fuss as well - there were stabbing incidents.

And I have tons of homework. War isn't knocking on my door at the moment, but I can hear its footsteps at the hall.

Edit: grammar

The status is NOT quo.

Ginger, I'm happy you got home safely.

Shir, I continue to cross fingers and toes that some miracle will happen to end the violence and keep you and yours safe.

In petty personal whining news, I hate insomnia. I despise it. I even took half an Ambien over an hour ago, but nothing. I don't have to get up for work, thankfully, but I do have to get up in five hours to make an appointment. I'm debating taking another half an Ambien, but I don't want to end up groggy and out of it. Then again, not sleeping will also lead to being groggy and out of it. Sigh.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, Kristin. I hope the sleep fairy will treat you well.

I'm a little bit panicking. I have friends on the border with Gaza in combat units, and it looks like they're gonna get in there soon.

I already lost two friends in the Second Lebanon War. This is a nightmare.

And I need to concentrate on school work.

Librarian Warlord

Shir, I'm so sorry you have to go through this (again). All of you. I hope peace breaks out soon. Soothing ~ma winging it's way to you.

{{Pix}} A basic need like sleep should not be so difficult for so many.

We came home to a dead mouse and new droppings, so my day will be (partly) spent dealing with the invasion. I've been hoping to re-organize closets and create some space for Babyfras this week, but now I'm scared to open the doors and look in the corners. Over xmas, my sister gave me a bunch of baby clothes that must also be washed, sorted for keeping/tossing and for size -- my sisters are not librarians and are not so much with the organization as I am. Come to think of it, my DH was not so excited about the label maker I gave him for Hanukah as I was. Hmm. I sense a pattern forming.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

{{{{Kristin}}}} I hope you get some rest.

{{{{Shir}}}} Safety~ma to you, your family, and your friends. Continued ~ma for peace to be renewed. My heart aches for all this.
