My idea of signing out after Christmas is quite different. It involves hiding in the house for two days after Christmas and doing nothing but read and watch TV.

I'm going to give your avoiders the benefit of the doubt that it's because they don't know what to say, not that they would take their opinions (whatever they may be) out on you.
