Are you done with Christmas Carol for the season, Omnis? I was reading a letter in the LA Times about terrible problems with the Kodak theatre show and I hoped you and your comrades were done with it for 2008.

Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
They have 2 more performances Sunday. Then we put it away until next year.
I love you all.
And in the meantime, let me entertain you with the "why Shir isn't sure about her whole reserve thing" story:
Every girl who finished her army duty before me got a form exempting her from reserve duty. Including the one who finished her duty three weeks before I have had (did? grammar much?).
The glorious day came, I'm coming to do all the releasing from army errands, and they're not giving me that form. When I asked about it, they said that if I haven't got one, I'm probably off and don't worry about it. Umm. Right? Back then I made a mental note to ask the next girl who was about to finish her two years duty (3 months after me), but I guess my "forget!" mental note was too strong, because I never did it, and I remembered it about a year and a half later. Given that I didn't really kept in touch with my ex-unit people, it'll be weird to call now.
Now, being in a unit where the guys are hardly ever being called to reserve in, it's not much of a worry. It's just that I don't know if I'm on the reserve list (because army fucks bureaucracy A LOT). If I am, it's only until I'll be 24 - next August (well, that or motherhood, but since I really don't plan any children anytime soon, and even if I'll get knocked up now, birth will take place after my birthday, I stick to the "next birthday" version).
Not that they'll call me.
So what your saying is, there IS a way I can help! Does the army consider motherhood at conception or birth?
ROFL
Army considers motherhood as actual birth. Not much you can do about it, dude.
:: shrugs :: it was worth a try.
I'm trying to create a joke about Omnis's noble offer of impregnation but nothing's coming to mind.
Hah! But surely if you're like, six months pregnant, they don't make you serve?? Get to it!
But seriously, scary times, and definitely thinking of you. Puts a little perspective in the headlines, for sure!
However, I did get to see the Ben Button movie with Sunil, so the afternoon was not a total loss. Good movie and good company. I agree with Meara, crying at the end? I mean it was sad, but not crying
Heh. Glad to hear I'm not the only cold hearted Bitch out there!
Had a rather odd evening out dancing with some friends tonight...good times but kinda random. Really only one friend, see. And one friend of hers I kinda know. And then some random people she knew that I didn't. And various other assorted people we picked up in the bar, or they knew. And then the one friend ditched us. So her friend and I kinda were like "WTF?" and made the best of it, but agreed it was very weird. But, I got to know her friend. Who is normally very very quiet, but is actually cool. So, yay that.
But surely if you're like, six months pregnant, they don't make you serve?
Until you're giving birth or need to stay in bed in order to protect the future child of yours, you're on active duty.
Bloody hell.

...that's all I've got.
