Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So much ~ma to your whole family, Nora.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

~ma to Nora and vw

We really need to get 2008 out of here.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Nora, my thoughts and some ~ma are with you and your family and your uncle.

{{{Nora}}} I'm so sorry. So much ~ma to your uncle.

Still vibing hard for Shir and family.

< totally random>

Funny thing was, I was playing a video game pretty much all day yesterday, and one of the settings is in Jerusalem circa 1100 AD

Assassin's Creed, omnis?

< /totally random>

Survived my mother. Honestly, as aggravated as she made me with respect to the reading over my shoulder and invasion of privacy, I never actually felt that I was close to losing my temper, which goes into the win column, I suppose.

The downside to the barely contained stress and worry that she might corner me for a Serious Conversation about my father is that I've barely slept for the last 3-4 days, on top of waking up at 5 to get her to the bus station on time.

Consequently, all I've been good for is a shower, fresh pjs, and flipping channels between bowl games and Tivo'd eps of Who. There may be reading. We'll see.

Our wings are not tired.

~ma all round, with a side of peace on earth.

Nora, you and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.

Yay for surviving the mom visit! My boys do the read over my shoulder thing when I am on the computer and it drives me crazy. I banish them harshly, but that is easier done with kids than parents.

I'm sorry, vw. It usually takes a bit of a break before couples can move to friends. Sometimes it isn't really the best plan anyway.

I tried to take a nap. DH called my phone. My sister called. Trying to choose between trying again, or making lunch for myself.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Assassin's Creed, omnis?
yup! I'm nearly done with it. I can't seem to beat the big guy at the end, so I'm going back through picking up the non-mandatory missions, plus trying to find all the flags. If I conquer this game, it will be the first console game I've played and won all the way through. Because of that, I'm kind of determined to just finish it!

OK, off to try and find Sears. They apparently have scarfs at super cheap prices through today. Also sheets. Wish me luck. I usually try and avoid stores until after the new year, but 60% off is too tempting.

Heh-- given that I don't game, I'm rather impressed with myself. Actually, that one caught my attention last fall because of the superb use of music in the ads (Massive Attack's Teardrop)and the graphics looked absolutely amazing. I asked Lewis about it and he told me the storyline-- I have to admit, it really sounds interesting.

Nate got Prince of Persia for Christmas so I may watch him play some of that.

VW - I'm sorry you guys couldn't be friends, but it sounds like he as some maturing to do.

The status is NOT quo.

Shir, I too am sick about this. You and Nilly and your families and, hell, the whole Middle East are in my thoughts.

vw, I know it's hard, but it's for the best. Being friends with an ex is hard in the best of circumstances, and I agree that it sounds like he has a lot of growing up to do.

Nora, so much -ma for you and your family. It's all just too much, dammit.

Suzi, I'm thrilled for you! I know this will take a huge weight off your shoulders.

Raq, also thrilled to hear your good news.

As far as my grandmother goes, we're in a bit of a holding pattern right now. The symptom is troubling but can't really be looked into until Monday without the ER, which Mom is trying to avoid putting Gram through, so unless things get a lot worse, it may be some time before we know if it's nothing or if it's something serious. She's 95 and has lived a good, long life, but obviously we're hopeful she has more time.
