And my advice is live with this until the easy A. Then not only evaluate, but maybe write a letter of complaint. See if you can get others in the class to also complain or maybe even come up with a joint letter a lot of the class can sign on to.

I don't think I have a big month, but I am an opinionative and loyal person, and in this case, I'm loyal to my opinions. And I don't think his teaching should go unnoticed.

At this point, I think I might need a bazooka, a flame-thrower and possibly a clown dress to demonstrate how much I resent a certain percent of his teaching approach.

How about "Your lectures are insulting to women, and to such men as may have progressed mentally into the 21st century. In particular, it is extremely disturbing that you make comments justifying rape because the victim learns to 'love' the one who committed violence against her. Also, the bit about women having power over men because women can make men fall in love with them is so silly even 1950s American TV shows were smarter."

I guess the question is, what effect can any of your actions possibly have. If course evaluations get read by the lecturer's superiors, and there are enough of those comments, perhaps they will have a little chat with him, and/or eventually make him go away, but maybe the powers that be pay no attention. Challenging him in class is unlikely to change his mind or the content of the lectures but might help your fellow students to take what he says with a grain of salt.

Apparently my link in the immediate post after saying that you can' hover with that link was too subtle. I should have had arrows and pointers and "here's the hoverable one."

I guess the question is -- how much more are you going to have to deal with this person. There is little chance that you will change the mind of this person. My questions is -- is he fair? When DH taught freshman english, he defined academic English -- and told his classes what arguments were acceptable and which were not ( god said so was not an acceptable argument). If the lecturer is unfair , or his biases show in grading -- you have a good case for making a bigger deal out of things. Otherwise -- I'd just quote everything back with qualifiers like "one interpretation is..."
