TCG is about 8 inches taller than me. Whenever people who haven't met him see a picture of us together they say, ''Wow, he's tall.'' And I have to remind him that no I am really short despite the fact that I am usually standing in front of them.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.
Gris--If someone made a grand speech to me early in the relationship, I'd feel that he liked making the speech more than he liked me. That would push me away more than it would bring me close. The best way to show a woman you care about her is through paying attention and caring actions. They don't need to be big, they just need to show that you are interested in and like who she really is. Like noticing she likes Junior Mints, and bringing a box of them the next time you go to a movie. The intensity can ramp up as you get more intimate.
The DH and I say shmoopy stuff all the freaking time. We say some form of I love you 10 zillion times a day, but it usually has a slightly odd aspect, because we're us. Just this morning he said "I love you, Coelacanth." Yes, he sometimes calls me after an prehistoric-but-rediscovered fish. I often sing a song about how wonderful he is, and change the lyrics to suit the moment. "You are the finest cook in all the land and this is the best salad ever made in history."

I'm 5'2"-ish, Lewis is 5'8". I can wear my highest heels and not worry that I'm going to be taller. (Never having been taller than a man I was involved with in my life, I suspect I would feel odd about it.)
