are people in Washington the state any better with snow that in Washington the city?
In the rural and suburban areas where we don't have many snow plows, we have schools, hospitals closing. Last night a lot of grocery stores closed early.
As a Washingtonian who is NOT good with snow I have a question. Someone told me that with only four inches on a steep driveway you are better off not shoveling because you end up uncovering ice and giving your tires less traction. Good tip? Bad tip?
Yay Zoe and good pet news!
Our driveway was relatively steep and we used to shovel all winter in Illinois. If it got icy we would sprinkle sand over it.
Yay for Zoe! Maybe it's 2008 trying to redeem itself for y'all. Or 2009 making an early appearance. Like the Office Of the 2009 Transition Party or something. Either way, FAB news!!!
I am of the late with holiday stuff. Nothing yet. Nada. I'm bad.
But in my INBOX was 2 very interesting e-mails. The company newsletter from old job, and company newsletter from new job. Both had a blurb about the holidays that tickled me (and my boss that made the move too) pink! Can you guess which one is which?
We send you all our very best wishes for terrific holidays. We also want to tell you that the administrative offices will close at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. If you have completed your [work] responsibilities by then, you are free to leave.
and option 2
administrative offices will be closed on December 24, 25, and 26 in observance of the holidays, AND Thursday, 1 January
2009 in observance of everyone being hung over from the night before.
I'm guessing new office is #2. What a great way to be reminded you made the right choice.
I know she's just a dog,
I know what the individual words say, but together they make no sense. Yay for good news!
I didn't think things would turn around so much. Not that everything is sparkly wonderful, but it is nice to know that things are better.
This is so great to hear, Suzi.
All I want for Christmas is a huge dose of happiness and health, with a sprinkling of prosperity.
From your fingers to god's eyes.
I haven't been a big fan of Christmas since I was a kid, but I'm particularly Grinchy this years.
Yay Zoe!

Hmm. Steep driveway, I'd go with shoveling and then sprinkling kitty litter.
