Death is your art. You make it with your hands day after day. That final gasp, that look of peace. And part of you is desperate to know: What's it like? Where does it lead you? And now you see, that's the secret. Not the punch you didn't throw or the kicks you didn't land. She really wanted it. Every Slayer has a death wish. Even you.

Barb, thanks for the update. I'm glad Aimee is ok.

Steph, good plan.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Glad Aimee's doing OK.

I went to the doctor about my shoulder today. She said she doesn't think anything's torn, but the only way to tell for sure is an MRI, but there's no real reason to do one just to see that. I'm getting some x-rays done, and physical therapy. If the PT doesn't make the pain and inflammation go away, then we'll consider cortisone shots.

Good point. So unless the pain comes back as bad as it was over the weekend, or unless my doctor can come up with a convincing reason that I *must* get the MRI in the next 2 weeks, I'll do it, but I'm going to wait until January 2.

I would go ahead and call them to schedule in January, though. There's probably a wait, so you might as well get on the schedule instead of waiting until January and then having to wait some more.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks for the update on Aims. I was going to skip, but had to skim to not miss important to me stuff.

Sounds like a good plan, Steph. May the pain level rapidly decline until you get the MRI in January.

Also lots of ~ma continuing outbound for Hil's shoulder, and dear Zoe, and all of the Bitches needing da ~ma.

ION, the video clip being replayed continuously of shoes flying at Bush just doesn't get old. Also not getting old, listening to news conferences with a leader that is all articulate and sense making.

brillig

she slipped on the third stair from the bottom

Thank god it's not much. Several months ago a girl was going down some stairs here in my building, she slipped 4-5 steps up, and broke several bones in her ankle. I was the only one who heard her go flump, but I figured it was a slip and she wouldn't want anyone to see her be embarrassed--then I heard her crying for help.

Women prefer the internet over sex

I've been NGA so long, I don't really remember sex, but I'm on the internet for hours a day

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

I'm glad for the update on Aims, and I'm really glad it wasn't anything terribly serious.

Hil, it's good to hear you and your doctor have a plan for your shoulder.

Teppy, here's hoping your pain is easily manageable until your MRI in January, and that what they find is wrong, is something easily treatable.

Very glad to hear Aims didn't do any major damage.

Good luck with the MRI, Tep.

I hope PT helps, Hil.

Hugs and hot toddies for all the people feeling poorly with winter ick. While not feeling poorly, it is definitely cold enough here to warrant one for myself. Brrr.

I just came home to find the mary janes I purchased from ebay had arrived! They fit. They are a very dark shiny grey. They have a platform heel, but they aren't high heeled. They are one of the few kinds of shoes that can make me taller that I can actually wear! They make me happier than shoes should.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

(from Vortex's lin)

Nearly half of the women questioned by Harris Interactive said they'd be willing to forgo sex for two weeks, rather than give up their Internet access

I am seriously going to have to ask how *much* sex I'd be giving up in those two weeks. Because if it's just once, I'd rather keep my wireless.
