Spike's Bitches 43: Who am I kidding? I love to brag.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Andi, did you know you can buy them online?
Yes, but I have been advised that the fit of a walking foot purchased separately from the sewing machine itself is such a fiddly thing that it is best to not buy it without trying it on the machine first. At one point, I schlepped the sewing machine down to a quilting shop to try a walking foot they had - we put it on, and it didn't sound right, so the quilt shop owner wouldn't sell it to me, in spite of the fact that meant I wouldn't be able to take the class there I'd wanted to sign up for. So buying a walking foot online is a bit of a crap shoot, since you can't try first, and likely can't return once you've installed it on your machine and worked with it long enough to hear and see how it fits.
seems we might need some holiday cheer. I thought I'd share this. As you may recall, or theater is collection cash for the local food bank after every performance of A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Here is the latest figures:
As an FYI - To those of you that may not know after each performance of ACC we are collecting cash donations for the North Texas Food Bank. As of today we have raised $20,487.15. Some of you may have seen the advertisements that $1.00 will generate 5 meals. So far we have provided them with over 100,000 meals.
The fact we are collecting for others, when our budgets are so hampered, really touches the heart. Gotta love the Artistic Director who wants the theater to be a positive part of the community, not just an isolated island of elitism (like my old job).
To me, this is Christmas Cheer. Maybe the news will warm y'all's souls, push away the sniffles and coughs. Fill the spirit that negates all pains. (ok, clearly I've been drinking too much of the egg-nog, please don't shoot me for being the optimist).
Recovery-ma for Barb's sick baby girl, Liv's sniffles, Deena's two little sickies, Steph's back, Andi's throat, and the aftermath of the perfidy of meara's alcohol.
Aims, I hope you're recovered and being sent home soon.

I did not know that.
Recovery-ma for everyone!
The doctor doesn't want to see my punkins again, so I'm gonna go take a nap.
Have we heard from PixK or ND irt Zoe? Or is it still too early in the day? Sorry, I don't read the Natter thread, dunno if anything was mentioned there. Just thinking about them, and hoping the new is good.
"Roasting annoying Christians/atheists/non-Jews over an open fire."
This is reminding me of the parody "Chipmunks roasting on an open Fire."
I did not know that.
But thank you for the suggestion, anyway. Hope the kids get to feeling better soon.
Omnis, your theater does indeed rock the holiday spirit.
someone make my mouse clicks in amazon stop working. Way too tempted by the SG-1 deal, the BSG deal, and Angel deal. BSG is easy, I want to wait until season 4 is done, and get the complete complete box set rather than the complete up till now box set. But SG-1 and Angel deals are a lot harder to resist. I think I'll take lunch. Food with strengthen my resolve.
Speaking as someone who has the Compleat Angel, and whose boyfriend just ordered the whole SG-1 set, I can't help you there, omnis.
They're calling your name, can't you hear them. They want to come home with you.
Omnis, thanks for asking. Zoe is coming home today. We won't know whether the tumor was malignant or benign until later this week, and that's the news that has my stomach in knots since a malignant diagnosis means we only bought her a month or two. Anyway, I'm trying not to think about it too much.
Much ~ma to Buffistas and their loved ones who are sick or hurting right now. Feel better ~ma to all.
