Hey, if it means I don't have to read any more, woo and, might I add, a big hoo.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Youth #1: Let's run through the sprinklers.

Youth #2: Oh dude that's what we should do!

Youth #3: Totally!

edit: of course these are the same three youths I had to "get offa my lawn" because of the language they were using in the lobby.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Wow, Daniel. Sorry about the car, really, really glad you weren't in it.

Daisy Jane, I'm so sorry for your job. Job~ma to all who need it.

Sean! I was just thinking about you this morning, and that I didn't see your posts in a while here. I hope you're doing OK.

IIsraelN, the situation in Gaza Strip is really not looking good. The family is worrying for my sister (and by "the family" I mean my parents and me). I don't even want to start calculate how many hours of sleep my mom lost in the last year because of it, because hundreds seems little. I have decided that I'll wait for the situation to deteriorate more before starting to leave my cell phone on "silent" in classes, leave my parents with my class schedule and tell them to call me on these times if something will happen. She supposed to be back home for 48 hours on Wednesday, so I might have a chance to see her, but they can freeze the holidays and afters (she mostly gets what we refer here as "after": not the weekend off, but 48 hours in the middle of the week for refreshment) anytime - they've done it before.

I have lots of Adult Life Stuff to take care for next week (from insurance to uni stuff), and I love it how I don't freak out about it anymore, even when money is involved. It's just a fuss, and one I'm hoping to solve in 3-5 Big Important meetings and phone calls.

OHappyN, I got my 33 1/3 on Gentlemen (I just realized I mostly thought it was Gentleman for very long time, probably because Buffy's Gentlemen were there (in my mind) first and I didn't want to confuse between those two). It is very, very shiny, and I savor it and read it really slowly, very emotionally. Kindda like the french toasts I'm having right now.

libkitty, I'm glad your mom is better, and I hope y'all doing well, Bitches.

Librarian Warlord

DJ, best of luck finding a new job that knows how to use your talents.

Daniel, thank goodness you weren't hurt, and that the driver and his buddy were blabbermouths.

((Shir + family))

Yum, french toast... I wonder if my DH took last night's challah to the park to nosh on while he's running the pup.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Shir, I'm so sorry you're all going through this and am sending all my ~ma for your sister's safe return home on this and every other leave.

Did you see where I mentioned before that Bob Gendron, who wrote the Gentlemen book is the husband of a good friend of mine? I'd love to pass your reaction or any comments along to him if it's okay with you.

Daniel, great news that they caught the guys and it looks like there's insurance.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

So much safety~ma for your sister, Shir.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I remembered someone on this board is a friend of his wife (Ann, right? It's in the book). You're welcome to pass anything I'll post here about the book, though I think I'll mostly post about it (once I'll finish reading it) on my very specific Gutter Twins/Twilight Singers/Afghan Whigs board over at Scott Ford Radio, where I'm also one of the mods. There's a thread about it, so.

Which reminds me - I think Gutter Twins have 3 more shows in U.S. (East Coast), and that's it for the next few years. I know a Twilight Singers album is next, but seriously, I think everyone is oughta see the Dulli/Lanegan duo, for so many reasons, but mostly because they are so enjoyable, on so many levels, even if you don't know the band.
